One of the best ways to evaluate someone's internal body functions is to look for patterns of imbalance in appropriately timed comprehensive bloodwork and compare the results to a person's symptoms.
Unfortunately, it is uncommon for medical providers today to test enough markers to really comprehend what is happening for the patient. I hear from new patients all the time that they were told their bloodwork was "normal" yet they are feeling anything but healthy. Once I look at the results, it becomes clear that not enough was tested to be able to help the patient.
That's where I come in! I work with some Alberta pharmacist colleagues who can send you for subsidized bloodwork in Alberta, at my request. If you do not live in Alberta, I can write a detailed request you can provide to your MD or NP where you live.
When I review bloodwork, I look for patterns showing me how the organ systems are relating to one another at the time of testing. Then I create a plan for how to help the patient recover function starting with a food forward approach and adding in other tools, as appropriate. This is different from how most practitioners are trained.
You may choose to do my Comprehensive Bloodwork Package before becoming an official patient. Or you can do the package as a current patient. *Note that the video review and virtual discussion is included already for VIP Mentees in the VIP Mentorship so they do not need to purchase this package only pay for the pharmacist's service.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. You purchase the Comprehensive Bloodwork Package.
2. Complete the Health Questionnaire you'll receive electronically.
3. Once you pay, you'll receive a link to set up your appointment with either my pharmacist colleague in Lethbridge, AB or another one if needed. If you live outside of AB, I can write a detailed request to give to your MD or NP where you live. *There is no guarantee an MD or NP will agree to run all requested markers.
4. Once you have your appointment date with the pharmacist, you must let me know the date so I can prepare a private email request for bloodwork on your behalf that I send directly to the pharmacist in time for your appointment. This doesn't apply if you are having bloodwork drawn outside of AB.
5. Once I receive the results, either from the pharmacist or from you, which you can get if signed into the AHS Patient Portal, I create a private video review for you to watch as many times as you need before your consultation.
6. After you receive the video review, you'll be contacted to set up your 30 minute virtual consultation with me to discuss the top 3-4 actions I recommend for you to engage in based on your results. At this point, you may be given the opportunity to become a patient to work on health concerns if not already a patient.
NOTE:
* If you've had bloodwork drawn within 3 months of doing more bloodwork for this Package, some blood markers may not be permissible to be retested so soon. Ask us first before purchasing.
Occasionally, functional testing beyond common comprehensive bloodwork is recommended for some patients. As a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, I have access to a broad range of functional labs and lab tests across North America.
Sometimes it is useful to have this extra detailed data to help design a more specific treatment strategy for those patients dealing with more complex health concerns, such as autoimmune conditions and some infertility cases.
The top tests I use most often in practice include:
* Vitamin D blood spot test from Doctor's Data
* DUTCH dried urine tests for hormone metabolite investigation from Precision Analytical
* GI MAP for comprehensive stool analysis from Diagnostic Solutions Lab
* detailed immune system evaluation through Cyrex Labs
Review of results from these labs is included to VIP Mentees in VIP Mentorship. Extra fees apply for testing and review for other patients or non-patients. I do not order these test for people without purchasing a package to review results. CONTACT us for more information.
